Bottoms Up

I've had a great couple of days of Thanksgiving. Starting with pre-Thanksgiving with a sister visit and then all the delicious food and my husband being home for a few days. . . ahhhh. Weeks just don't get much better. It did rain four four days, day/night while my sister was here and that isn't the best thing to remember, but we did get to go through the forest and on a rainy run and window shopping.
Not me, but my sis working it, walking it :-)
Our window shopping was funny b/c we actually did window shop. I often get a babysitter during the day when my kids are at school. I hire a home-schooled girl to come over, but this week (go figure) she was busy with relatives. So, we headed to the store and one of us stayed out in the van (raining the entire time) while the other went inside. With texting and store windows and gestures, we both scored bigtime on some boots and cute shoes.
So, today I had tickets to "A Christmas Carol" for my family. I must be getting old, b/c I literally teared up during the show! Can you believe this? The production was similar to what a high school might produce. I was impressed with the set and the stage effects. The main actor (Scrooge) was really good. The part that made me emotional was at the end when the story becomes happy. The company had been able to use a few persons with disabilities (member of the Cratchit family and a townsperson) and it was so touching to see the gigantic smile go across the face of the young man in the wheelchair. Prior to this, we (the audience) had only seen him gaze, unfocused with his mouth open. But, he knew when he was being cheered on at the end. What a great story. That Charles Dickense, he's a gem of a writer :-). My six-year old daughter, who got quite concerned about all of the "monsters" (ghosts of past, past, present, etc) had this to say about Scrooge:  "When Mr. Scrooge got his lesson, he even looked nicer."

To be a kid again . .
I got quite a chuckle at my kids before the show, thus the title of this post. These pictures aren't very good, because they are taken with my cell phone, but you have to focus on the feet sticking up in the air -- cracks me up every time I look at it. I remember being confused by those chairs when I was little and also being concerned that I would be squashed between the bottom of the seat and the back of the seat.
