I genuinely loved seeing all of the kids costumes on facebook, kids of my friends and family. My church had a party and it was really fun, very well-attended and just "downright" fun. I loved the number of adults that got into it by dressing up. I love finding out days later who some of the people were that I didn't recognize.

My kids are at fun ages. They get excited about everything. The girls stayed with me and my son took off with one of his friends and got a load of candy. I am thinking about sending a bunch of candy to contacts from church (serving in the military and on church missions). My 6 yo did pray at dinner, Halloween night, that "people wouldn't hand out candies with peanuts". That wasn't exactly answered, but at least this year no one was sick (she was throwing up last year on Halloween).
Oh, and the other great thing about this holiday is that I talked with my neighbors more that night than I have the entire year, even more than at Christmas. I have neighbors of different ethnicity and religious background -- everyone celebrates Halloween, I am smiling from the inside out.
That is awesome! I must admit only a math minded household would completely organize their candy by section and in lines! My kids dumped and sifted and unwrapped.
ReplyDeleteCute costumes by the way! Great job on finding your neighbors!
When we were growing up, I challenged myself to be able to store my candy longer than you. It seems like you kept yours in a pillowcase in your drawer.
